about

Havikk first appeared on the South Central Cartel debut album South Central Madness in early 1992 before releasing a succession of albums together with his group throughout the remainder of the decade. After their follow-up, 1994's N Gatz We Truss, generated a sizable amount of attention in the gangsta rap underground, Def Jam Recordings signed the group, eventually resulting in their most realized album, 1997's All Day Everyday. Havikk and his group stand alongside fellow early-'90s West Coast collectives such as Compton's Most Wanted, NWA, and Above the Law, as gangsta rap pioneers. Now Havikk is currently pushing his first solo compilation project called The Rhime Son, which is being released in conjunction with Pete Spray. While other members of the South Central Cartel have released solo projects in the past, this is Havikk's first time taking the solo route. The Rhime Son features a string of new tracks from Havikk, along with a couple of classics, such as the infamous Knock On Wood (Remix). Features includes Rated R of Thug Life, 2Pac, 40 Glocc of G-Unit, Spice 1, Kyle Rifkin from the America's Got Talent show, and more.
